Submission terms

These terms help Overthink Press protect the person submitting, the people mentioned, and the community reading.

Who may submit

You must be at least 18 years old and submit only material you created and have the right to share.

Privacy and identifying details

Do not include real names, employer or school names, exact locations, contact information, or details that could reasonably identify another person. Overthink Press may remove or change identifying details. Anonymous publication reduces risk but cannot guarantee that no person will recognize a situation.

Permission to edit and publish

By submitting, you grant Overthink Press permission to review, store, edit, adapt, excerpt, and publish the submission on its website, email, and social channels. You keep ownership of your original story. Publication is not guaranteed, and Overthink Press may decline or remove content at its discretion.

Editorial boundaries

We will not knowingly publish threats, harassment, hate speech, explicit identifying accusations, unlawful content, or material that appears to violate another person’s privacy or intellectual property. Submissions are reviewed manually and never published automatically.

Questions and responses

Ask Kate responses are personal reflections based on lived experience. They are not medical, psychiatric, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice and do not create a professional or therapeutic relationship.

Removal requests

You may request reasonable removal of a published submission by replying from the email address used to submit it. We will review the request, but removal from third-party shares, archives, or screenshots cannot be guaranteed.

Contact and data

Email addresses are used for editorial follow-up, publication notification, or the separate newsletter consent you expressly provide. They are not displayed with submissions. Do not submit full mailing addresses, medical records, payment details, or other sensitive documents.
